Your hosts Margaret & Peter and Archie our curly coated retriever offer a fully serviced 2 bedroom luxury cottage, which is only 15 minutes walk from the Twizel town centre or 5 minutes drive where there are a good selection of cafes and restaurants. The outlook is beautiful with great views of the mountains. There are many things to do from this location including great lakes for boating and swimming, fishing and snow skiing. We are 40 minutes drive from Mount Cook where there are fabulous walks and great scenery. While you are here you can cycle, walk, play golf, take a helicopter ride or ski plane ride. It is a great playground for the whole family.
Situated in a ski area of Twizel, Gladstone Cottage is close to the local golf course & Alps to Ocean cycle trail. The outlook is beautiful with great views of the mountains, star gazing at night and nestled just steps away from Lake Ohau.

This cottage is magic and in a gorgeous setting. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Twizel is an excellent base for fishing, skiing, and enjoying all the Mt Cook/Aoraki region has to offer. highly recommended.

We only stayed one night coming from Wanaka and before heading back to Christchurch. We arrived early evening and were greeted by the owners. We barbecued our meat and cooked our veggies in their well-equipped kitchen. Our stay was very comfortable and a great base for going to see Mt. Cook.

Spacious and comfortable Cottage, friendly hosts
The cottage is very spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you could expect from a holiday home. We especially enjoyed the patio from which you can watch the sunset. Margaret and Peter are very friendly hosts with whom we had a nice chat. We were sad that we could stay for only one night!

Excellent location for visiting Mount Cook
Warm welcome from Margaret and Peter as they returned from purchasing a brand new BBQ for the cottage. (I couldn’t see anything wrong with the older one.) We christened the new BBQ that very same evening and it is very fine indeed. Well equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms and living area. We made use of the washing machine and the clothes dried to perfection outside. The cottage is in the grounds of their home but quite a distance away. Short drive brings you into Twizel with cafes, supermarkets and bars. For us it was a perfect base for exploring Mount Cook, we were sad to leave after only 2 nights. Would stay again because of the location.

Lovely cottage, great hosts
A cute little cottage at the front of the owners house, far enough away for yr privacy. The hosts Peter and Margaret and very warm welcoming people. There was a board out the front of our cottage with a personal welcome to us- a lovely touch. They had the fire going when we arrived, which was great as it was a very cold night. The bedrooms were large enough and comfortable beds. Would probably suit a family more then two couples as there is only one queen and two single beds.( not that it bothered us). Also only one bathroom with the toilet and shower together is a bit of a no no for me. I would still highly recommend Gladstone cottages for a comfortable stay in a lovely part of New Zealand.

From State Highway 8 turn down Glen Lyon Road, then approximately 2.2 km turn left onto North West Arch. Keep following North West Arch for approximately 1.6 km until you get to Gladstone Cottage and Homestay on your right (clearly signposted).
